Hyper-sensitivity to sound? thread   Message List

Hello FIRST-Aid subscribers,

The following is bits and pieces of a thread related to hyper-
sensitivity to sound. I'll have to do some googling to verify some
of the suppositions I make in this thread. Anyway, thought it may be
of interest to some people in the group so here it is...

(googling: adverb, to search a topic using the google search engine,
www.google.com )

Jim,
I really liked your thorough post of substance P and magnesium. I
wonder if the high substance P might cause or associate with hyper-
sensitivity to sound?
Jim (Iowa)

Jim (Iowa),
Interesting thought on possible connection to hearing, if substance P
is affecting the nerve cells there could be a link. Time for google.
Jim

Jim...
The sound sensitivity could be in my case oxygen deprivation related
since the only way I get it to relax is to hyper ventilate in
meditation. One of your links is all about that being the primal
cause behind FMS-CFS. How does the THMI program correct that, is it
the metabolic correction net effect of sauna et al?
Jim (Iowa)

Jim (Iowa),
I think it may be connected to metabolism. As metabolism is
impaired less CO2 is created (CO2 is a byproduct of the kreb cycle
process) and the blood pH becomes more alkaline as a result. As the
blood becomes alkaline the hemoglobin holds on more tightly to
oxygen. This holding onto oxygen then further impedes the ability of
the cells to produce energy since oxygen is required to do so in the
aerobic processes in the mitochondria.

I think part of the key is the FIR sauna kicking up metabolism so
that the cells have more ATP to work with, the resulting CO2 will
help correct blood pH, and the blocks to magnesium are slowly
removed. Magnesium is essential for operation of the kreb cycle.
That is why I think it best to keep magnesium as part of the program
while I think it best to obtain all other nutrients from food
sources. When things are corrected and digestion somewhat returned
to normal then food sources for magnesium will probably be sufficient.

All the best,
Jim
