Hi Marcia,
It's so good to have this forum to share our experiences and, hopefully, be
of help to one another.
I'm so glad to hear from others who are 'ahead' of me on this
program and seeing progress. Would you mind sharing what symptoms its
helped you with? I'm really looking forward to relief from fatigue and
fibromyalgia pain.
It's pretty much two steps forward, one step back. At first I had more
energy consistently. As I started to sweat more I began having more back pain
(some of the time, not always) and less days of good energy. I think what's
happening is that 1) I'm detoxing, and 2) I'm losing minerals and need to find
the
right balance to supplement until I can get my diet straightened out. I
started out with too high a dose of dessicated liver and sweet dairy whey and
had to
give them both up for a while. I began again with just the liver - 1/4 tsp.
a day - and got that up to 1 tsp. twice a day. Then I started again with the
whey - 1/4 tsp a day - and now that's up to 1 tsp twice a day, too. I'm
feeling noticeably better since taking both of these consistently.
I recently had the flu and when it was over I was surprised that I had more
energy than usual. I think that's probably from the liver ... and the saunas.
I stopped doing them while I was sick and am anxious to get back to them.
I used to get some nasty cramps in my calves at times and found too
that
mag/calcium helped me. Sometimes it didn't seem to be enough tho and I
aslo had to add potassium which is also important in muscles/nerves and
needs to stay balanced with sodium. That keeps my leg cramps at bay
too. But on those rare occasions I get them, nothing can take them away
fast enough, LOL!
Yes, I sometimes take potassium along with the mag/calcium. At first I was
taking potassium every time I had the leg cramps, but after discussions with
Jim realized I was probably creating problems with my sodium levels. (Sodium and
Potassium need to be balanced). At that time I didn't have a good food
source of sodium, so stopped the potassium and most of the time I don't seem to
need it.
Its great to have 'natural' options that work to turn to instead of
drugs, isn't it?
That's a big 10/4 !!! Drugs just don't work for me. I always seem to have
the opposite reaction than intended. Uppers make me depressed ... Downers make
me hyper. In fact, that was my first clue as to what was wrong with me. I
read many years ago about the Feingold children taking Ritalin to calm them
down. That was one of those "Aha" moments and it got me started on the right
path towards finding answers.
I wish the best to all of us as we take this exciting path. It's so
encouraging to be able to do something that actually gives results. I think the
best
thing about the program is Jim's encouragement and help with any problems and
questions.
Ellen
