The CFIDSME-Activist has been created as an opportunity to discuss activism with relation to the illness known as M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Encephalopathy); CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome), or most recently for those who test positive for the RNaseL defect, R.E.D.D. (RNaseL Enzyme Dysfunction Disease), as well as the allied illness Fibromyalgia (FMS), Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS), Gulf War Syndrome (GWS), lupus, connective tissue disorders, and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The list should find it's own center over time, and it is likely that this description will be rewritten several times. If members want to move in that direction, the list may become the meeting place for a nonprofit organization, perhaps called The CFIDS/M.E. Activist. Right now, the purpose is to bring people together to work openly and in unity to get information out, and attention to, the disease CFIDS/M.E. and those who suffer from it -- over half a million people in the U.S. alone, at last count. The CFIDS/M.E. Activist is explicitly international in nature; perhaps it can serve to unify movements in different nations and on different continents. It is against the rules to use this list for commercial purposes. Anyone with the diseases listed above, or caretakers of such, is welcome to join; otherwise, ask permission of the listowner first. For further information about the disease, try the CFIDS/M.E. Information Page at http://www.cfids-me.org -- for further information about the listowner, Mary Schweitzer, you are welcome to visit my home page at http://www.cfids-me.org/marys/
