Earl,
Your welcome...no doesn't seem to be an equivalent to Holtorf in Bay area.
My Appt. is Aug.30th, but I will most likely re-sched. for later date because we will be moving that day into place on the peninsula hopefully....so can't road trip to LA area on that day and move from temp. place in Walnut Creek to house in Peninsula area ;).
I am actually still in D.C....here for a year from So.Cal./Orange County
My husband and I are moving back to Bay area where he is from...so I have been digging and researching & pursuing care here on East coast (network w/wonderful grps here & took part in CFS Lobby Day w/CFIDS Assoc. on Capitol Hill) and trying to be proactive for Bay area care ... so I can hit the ground running...
The moderator of this site, if I remember correctly, gave me last list of Dr.s in Bay area....several to look into when I arrive
in 3 weeks. I will try to attach to you if I can and may be helpful for you...
Sorry for all added details...
re: negative experiences w/Holtorf...I did read critism of care & cost...I want to see him...but have to be prepared for investment & need more review myself to make sure it's the next step in where I want to go with care.
it's busy center...so I feel I would have to coordinate Holtorf's recommendations w/Dr. in Bay area.
Do look into people's experiences on immunesupport ... message boards are helpful...many people have done well at Holtorf's clinic too...I don't want to discourage you...can only tell you where i am in the process!
Best to You!...keep me posted.

Jenny,
Thanks for the quick reply. After I did more digging on Google, I saw Dr. Holtorf's website too and I am planning on calling and making an appointment. When is your appointment? His office sounds what I was looking for in the Bay Area, but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent, is there?
I'll check out immunesupport.com too. I assumed Holtorf was expensive, which is not good but what can you do? Were there any other negative comments other than that? Thanks again and hope your appointment with him goes well!
Earl

HI Earl,
I do not have direct experience with the 'Fibro & Fatigue
Centers'...but I do have an appt. w/Dr Holtolf at his medical
clinic...his site is www.hormoneandlonge vitycenter. com/hormonedocto r/
I don't know if I will keep it as I have read pro's and con's of his
care, office and mostly it's expensive. So this may or may not be
an issue for you. He books 4 mths out, his office contact was very
professional and encouraging when I spoke with her.
I researched his name on www.immunesupport. com (Rich Carson's
ProHealth site) to see what people's experiences were on the message
boards for CFIDS/FM. He's very current, obviously ,in integrative
medicine for treatment.
It is my understanding that he is no longer affliated with Fibro &
Fatigue...Holtolf Medical Clinic is his own now and yes, I have read
he is responsible for writing protocols for the FFC's...and Dr.
Teitelbaum is more the head of the centers...
Anyway...If you don't already have the above sites, hopefully they
will serve as some reference for you. Good Luck and let us know
about your experience if you do visit the Holtorf Clinic in Torrance
or FFC in other area.
