It is one group but two separate meetings a month apart. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The Alexander Technique meeting is this coming Tuesday, June 17th.
No, the meeting about pool exercises is not at a pool. It's at the same place as the others: Herrick Campus of Alta Bates Hospital, 2001 Dwight Way. It is a video showing pool exercises and the benefits of this type of exercise for Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. It is possible to do some of them on land, and people are willing to do that during the meeting, if they wish, but it's intended for doing and easier to do the exercises in a pool. This pool program is actually offered at various facilities around the Bay Area. It is at the YMCA in Downtown Berkeley, and I'm not positive where else. You can always check with the Arthritis Foundation for more information. Their number is also on the flyer.
The June meeting about The Alexander Technique, is a hands-on demonstration, where the speaker demonstrates some of the techniques on a volunteer subject in front of the group, or has the group doing some kind of postural exercise, then, utilizing their body-work/massage tables, they do some further coaching on individuals who choose to benefit from that. It's difficult to explain, but suffice it to say, that the benefits of both the Alexander Technique this coming Tuesday and the video on pool exercises, will become clear after you have heard and seen what is presented.
Did you receive this announcement in your e-mail vs. the Yahoo Groups webpage? I'm curious to know if the flyer actually printed out correctly. I can't tell. Does this answer your questions? If not, let me know if you need more information.
I hope you'll be able to come on Tuesday. I look forward to meeting you.
