Is your son seeing a pediatric endocrinologist? As long as he takes his meds
daily, his height should be well within the normal range. I'm 43, have CAH
and I'm 5'6". My mother is 5'10" and my father is 6'1", but he has a sister
(no CAH) who is barely 5'0". So who's to say if I'm "short"? LOL! At any
rate, 5'6" is perfectly normal and I'm very comfortable with it. BTW, I
wasn't diagnosed until age 4, so I think my doctor made up for lost time
very well.
And yes, he should be able to do all the normal kid things. I just went to
the Australian site myself and I think they put it very well - CAH is a
nuisance, not a handicap :-) I like that - that's been my view of it all my
life. As long as you and your son (when he's older) "play by the rules" I
think you'll find it's not a problem at all.
