We are a group of Heart Bypass patients and their families who lend support to each other, as well as share our experiences with those facing bypass surgery.
Caregivers and family members are very welcome to our group, because they are very instrumental in the patients recovery and go through as much, if not more, as the CABG patient does during recovery.
We also make every attempt to search out, and then share links or news of the latest technology in cardiac research, so we can all be aware of the newest medical advances in cardiac care that are available to us.
Understand, that we ARE NOT doctors; merely CABG patients willing to share what we have learned through our own experience.
Bypass presented us with a second chance at life, and these advances spell out HOPE for our futures. We are humans with mended hearts; we hail from varied backgrounds, interests, and areas of the country....even different countries!
We also offer support to the primary caregiver, who plays a very important role in the recovery of the patient.
It's not all cold and clinical facts in this support group. As a group, we develop friendships, and have fun as we share. You'll find jokes, and laughter....it's good for a healthy heart!
(Just so you know, we try to remember to label our off topic posts as "O/T", for anyone who doesn't care for that type of post....it can be skipped, or deleted from your email!)
But, you'll also find some answers here as to what has been helpful to each individual in getting through the trying times.
All you have to do is ask. Just jump right in with a post to introduce yourself, and ask away. We will immediately drop the banter, and aid you as best we can.
So, if you are facing...or have already been through, what we all share in common, then come join us. Rest assured, you'll receive a warm welcome!
