We are a "cabbage patch" group of heart bypass patients, and their families and their friends and relations who try to lend support to each other. We also share our experiences with those facing bypass surgery.
Caregivers and family members are very welcome to our group. They also need to recover from bypass surgery, but in a different way.
We attempt to search out, and then share information on, the latest developments in cardiac research. Bypass presented us with a second chance at life, and these advances spell out HOPE for our futures.
DISCLAIMER: Understand that we are not doctors; merely CABG patients and their relatives. Any advice given here is for information only and should be discussed fully with your doctor if you are considering changing any aspect of your bypass recovery.
Please do not attempt any self-treatment, or adjust any medications without the direct involvement and approval of your doctor. We are not responsible for self medication or med adjustment.
It's not all cold and clinical facts in this support group. As a group, we develop friendships, and have fun as we share. You'll find jokes, and laughter. It's good for a healthy heart! However we try to be aware that group members are from varied backgrounds and different countries and posts that appear deliberately insulting or disruptive may be removed. Confrontation is not good for a healthy heart.
(If possible off topic posts should be labelled "O/T", so that anyone who doesn't care for that type of post can skip it, or delete it from their email.)
Don't be afraid to join us. Please jump right in with a post to introduce yourself, and ask away.
We will immediately drop any banter, you'll receive a warm welcome, and we'll try to aid you as best we can.
