Thank you very much :) If there is any information that you think would be
helpful, that I should share... please let me know. I want to get out
information to new survivors and their families/ support systems. I feel
strongly that through education we (as survivors) can have our voices heard.

Social part of it. I have a burn on most of my left forearm, it is almost the
whole length of the forearm. It sticks out like a sore thumb. I use to always
wear long sleeves to cover it up to not worry about the looks and stares from
people. Hated feeling like I was a freak of nature because it stands out so
much. Now I've come to realize that it isn't the gawks, stares or the little
whispers you get from people. It's the fact that our Society is so "uneducated"
about it.

I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions. I am in the process of putting
everything in book form, that way it could be given to burn survivors and used
in hospitals or at burn camps. It's a journal guide, and my hope is that it
will aid survivors. I also discuss the fear of Social Death and different
things I've done to avoid it. I hope this project will reach those who need it.
Thanks!! This forum Rocks!!
