The Burn Survivor Support Zone is for those who have suffered injuries due to burns but its also for their family and friends.My family and I have learned that the words "Burn Victim" includes everyone that loves and supports the injured person.

My wife, Cathy and I have posted some files with some info. that may be helpful. There are also pictures of me that have been taken through out the entire process, they are open to the public. I have set this group up so that each person can start a photo album of their own. So I encourage you to post some of your own pictures. Please feel free to share your story or just vent any frustrations that you may have...We are here to listen and help in any way we can.

MY STORY (The Short Version) On fathers day (06-19-06) about 4:30am I awoke to the smoke detector going off. My son had came in drunk and tried to cook some french fries, he passed out and left the pot of grease on the stove. It caught on fire and filled the house with black smoke. I tried to get the pot out the back door and slipped, the pot of grease spilled all over my legs. I also was burned on both of my arms and hands. I was burned 70% (3rd degree full thickness) of my body. I was flown to Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital here in North Carolina. My wife was told that there was a 103% chance that I wouldn't make it...I did as you can tell. It has been a long road traveled with many more miles to go, I'll make it thought...one step at a time.
Everyone was safe so it was worth all that I have gone through. Also my son has learned that when you drink that everyone around can be in danger. All the ads and comercials tell you not to drink drive but none warn you about what can happen at home.
