interested to volunteer with Shan You as well. I have attached Shan You
volunteer registration form which has a list of areas which you can consider
volunteering for.
Hope this clarifies things for everyone!

Apologies for this late notification as i was on MC yesterday and could not access the internet. Unfortunately, the number of people who have confirmed coming is very low (less than 5) and we do not wish to waste the time
of the speakers as they have to make the trip down just for a one hour talk each when they might have been able to spend that time more productively. Hope that you understand, especially those of you who were looking forward to coming for this session.
I will keep you all updated on future sessions. In the meantime, your feedback on BSS/support group sessions would be very much appreciated!

Due to the poor attendance for this Sat’s

Subject: FW: Valentine Roses 2006
Hi Friends,
Valentine's Day is a good day to express our appreciation, love, gratitude
or kindness to our friends, colleagues, teachers and family members.
Through simply presenting a stalk of rose, it does effectively convey our
thoughts and messages, which are often beyond words. Indeed, this graceful
gesture can be very meaningful by dedicating it to the less fortunate ones,
to those need more care and support. Henceforth, Shan You Counselling
Centre intends to promote this spirit during the forthcoming Valentine's Day
with 'For Love, For Charity' roses.
During Valentine's Day, Shan You staff and volunteers will be appealing the
public to purchase roses. The funds raised will then be channelled to
support community services meant for our beneficiaries; i.e., children,
youths, elderly and families (details can be view at www.shanyou.org.sg) who
are really in need for help.
We hereby appeal for your esteem organisation to support our Valentine's Day
fund raising effort. We will bundle the Valentine rose and a handphone
string at $10 for a good cause. Our volunteers/staff will be pleased to
deliver the fresh roses to your office, thus your fellow staff members will
enjoy the convenience of purchasing fresh roses directly.
Please help to disseminate this spirit of Valentine to your fellow
colleagues. We sincerely appreciate your help and please contact Nina at
67489975 or Khema at 67419293 for details about ordering our "For Love, For
Charity" roses.
Warmest regards,
Beng Wee

Here’s a reminder to RSVP for this Sat’s support
group session if you have not done so. It is indeed a privilege to have Shangpa
Rinpoche with us for this Sat, so do come down if you are able to make it.
One of the best forms of dana (giving), please help if you
can, or at least pass the word around. Thanks!
Dear friends,
I am sorry to have to mass
mail everyone but the matter is very urgent and possibly one of life and death.
A friend of mine is a
medical officer with the HSA Bloodbank. He drew my attention to the fact that
our blood reserves, esp. for certain blood groups, are very critically low. You
can view the current blood stock by visiting http://www.donorweb.org.
The situation is particularly dire given the long Chinese New Year holiday that
is upcoming when the input basically stops - but the demand is likely to
increase. You can help by:
c) if you are a member of a
club, society or religious organisation that you think will be able to get the organisation
to help on a bigger scale, the Singapore Red Cross is prepared to arrange for
their bloodmobile to come by your place for your members to donate blood.
Please contact Miss Lynn Tan of the Singapore Red Cross Society at 6220 0183 or
email lynn.tay@...
This call is dated 17
January 2006.
What better way to celebrate
Chinese New Year by helping to save a life.
