I am sorry to have to mass mail everyone but the matter is very urgent and possibly one of life and death.

 

A friend of mine is a medical officer with the HSA Bloodbank. He drew my attention to the fact that our blood reserves, esp. for certain blood groups, are very critically low. You can view the current blood stock by visiting http://www.donorweb.org. The situation is particularly dire given the long Chinese New Year holiday that is upcoming when the input basically stops - but the demand is likely to increase. You can help by:

 

a) donating blood (see http://www.donorweb.org/bloodmobiles/ for the venues most convenient for you);

 

b) call on your friends to help;

 

c) if you are a member of a club, society or religious organisation that you think will be able to get the organisation to help on a bigger scale, the Singapore Red Cross is prepared to arrange for their bloodmobile to come by your place for your members to donate blood.
