Invitation to “An Introduction to Motivational Interviewing – A
Professional Training Seminar”

Shan You Counselling Centre is a non-profit voluntary welfare organization
providing counselling and social services to the community regardless of
race and religion.

Due to overwhelming response and positive feedback from our first run of
Motivational Interviewing Seminar and Workshops, we are pleased to announce
that we are organising another Motivational Interviewing Seminar on 26
January and skills-based workshops on 21, 22, 24 & 25 April 2006.

Motivational Interviewing is a widely used and suitable approach in the
fields of addiction couselling, health care, medical and school settings.
It is an evidence-based clinical method that helps to increase clients’
motivation for change and sustain change.

Health care personnel such as general practitioners, dieticians,
physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, psychiatrists,
psychologists, counsellors, school counsellors, social workers, case
managers, community welfare workers and teachers will find this course
tremendously beneficial. Positive feedback from participants of the
previous run confirms the benefits of the seminar.
