It is the 26th again and I will never get that date out of my head. I was just out by the pool and was sitting on my glider and remember how Brett used to say...Gramma, when I move down here you will never have to worry about doing any work with the pool. That will be my job. How I wish he was here just to sit on the swing with me. I miss him so much. I don't think the hurt will ever go away. Love to you up there in heaven.
I will always think of Brett on the 26th day of each month..........

One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore". No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say"I love you."
So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage.....And old cars... And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.
Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!
I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it, if you feel that way. Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?
I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said.
Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile can do. And just in case I'm gone tomorrow.
I LOVE YA!!!
Live today to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised..

NEED WASHING?? A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.
The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in 'Mom let's run through the rain,' she said. 'What?' Mom asked.
'Let's run through the rain!' She repeated
'No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit,' Mom replied.
This young child waited about another minute and repeated: 'Mom, let's run through the rain,'
'We'll get soaked if we do,' Mom said.
'No, we won't, Mom.. That's not what you said this morning,' the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.
This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?
'Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, He can get us through anything!'
The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.
Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.
'Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If GOD let's us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,' Mom said.
Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.
And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.
Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories...So, don't forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven. I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Send this to the people you'll never forget and remember to also send it to the person who sent it to you. It's a short message to let them know that you'll never forget them.
If you don't send it to anyone, it means you're in a hurry..
Take the time to live!!!
Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you'll need each other -- and don't forget to run in the rain!

Let's see if you send it back. We all know or knew someone like this!!
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.
As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes My heart went out to him.
So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.' They really should get lives. ' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!' There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.
We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends He said yes.
We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! ' He just laughed and handed me half the books.
Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.. When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship.. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak
Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days.
I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!' He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. ' Thanks,' he said.
As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began 'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story.' I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. 'Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable...'
I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions.. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way... Look for God in others.
You now have two choices, you can :
1) Pass this on to your friends or 2) Delete it and act like it didn't touch your heart. As you can see, I took choice number 1.
'Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.'
There is no beginning or end. Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift. Thats why they call it the present

I have been thinking of Brett all day today and even had my cry. The hurt of his passing is still there as strong as if it was today. I will never ever forget him. He will always be deep in my heart. I had such a nice poem ready to send today but will keep it until June 26. I love you, Brett. Until we meet again in Heaven because a precious person as you were has to be there.........

One day a mother died And on that clear, cold morning, In the warmth of her bedroom, The daughterwas struck with The painof learning that sometimes There isn't any more.
No more hugs, No more lucky moments to celebrate together, No more phone calls just to chat, No more 'just one minute'
Sometimes, what we care about the most goes away. Never to return before we can say good-bye, Say 'I Love You.'
So while we have it .. . it's best we love it . . And care for it and fix it when it's broken And take good care of it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage....and friendships
And children with bad report cards; And dogs with bad hips; And aging parents and grandparents We keep them because they are worth it, Because we cherish them!
Some things we keep -- Like a best friend who moved away Or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make Us happy,No matter what. Life is important, And so are the people we know And so, we keep them close!
I received this from someone today Who thought I was a 'KEEPER'!
Then I sent It to the people IThink of in the same way !
Now it's your turn to send this to all those people WhoAre 'keepers' in your life!

In this great city that has no end, Yet the days go by and weeks rush on, And before I know it, a year is gone. And I never see my old friends face, For life is a swift and terrible race, He knows I like him just as well, As in the days when I rang his bell. And he rang mine but we were younger then, And now we are busy, tired men. Tired of playing a foolish game, Tired of trying to make a name. 'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim Just to show that I'm thinking of him.' But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes, And distance between us grows and grows. Around the corner, yet miles away, 'Here's a telegram sir,' 'Jim died today.' And that's what we get and deserve in the end. Around the corner, a vanished friend. Remember to always say what you mean. If you love someone, tell them.
Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late. Seize the day. Never have regrets. And most importantly, stay close to your friends
and family, for they have helped
make you the person that you are today.

-Hey just so you know: I Love You Guys Read Alone....
Especially the Poem
I believe whatever is in store for
us will be for us.
The poem is very true, unfortunately.
Make sure you read the poem!
CASE 1: Kelly Sedey had one wish,
for her boyfriend of three years,
David Marsden, to propose to her..
Then one day when she was out to lunch David proposed!
She accepted, but then had to leave
because she had a meeting in 20 min.
When she got to her office, ! ! she noticed on her computer she had some e-mail's.
She checked it, the usual stuff from her friends, but then she saw one
that she had never gotten before.
It was this poem.. She simply deleted it
without even reading all of it.
BIG MISTAKE! Later that evening,
she received a phone call from the police
It was about DAVID! He had been in an accident with an 18 wheeler. He didn't survive!
CASE 2: Take Katie Robinson She received this poem
and being the believer that she was
she sent it to a few of her friends but didn't have enough e-mail addresses to send out
the full 5 that you must.
Three days later, Katie went to a masquerade ball.
Later that night when she left to get to her car,
she was killed in that spot by a hit-and-run drunk driver.
CASE 3: Richard S. Willis sent this poem out
within 45 minutes of reading it.
Not even 4 hours later walking along the street
to his new job interview with a really big company, !
when he ran into Cynthia Bell,
his secret love for 5 years. Cynthia came up to him and told him of her passionate crush on him
that she had had for 2 years.
Three days later, he proposed to her and they got married.
Cynthia and Richard are still married
with three children, happy as ever!
This is the poem:
Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end, Yet the days go by and weeks rush on, And before I know it, a year is gone. Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late. Seize the day. Never have regrets. And most importantly, stay close to your friends
and family, for they have helped
make you the person that you are today.
You must send this on in 3 hours after reading the letter
to 10 other people.
If you do this, you will receive unbelievably good luck.
*NOTE*
the more people that you send this to, the better
luck you will have.

I went up and sat on the bench by his memorial and said some prayers and was crying and I swear
I heard his say" It's all good, Gramma" That was one of his favorite saying.

I wanted to get this out yesterday but misplaced it until now. I sent this before but I think it is so good for Brett's memory.
They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason,
Will change the way we feel.
For no one knows the heartache
That hides behind the smiles.
No one knows how many times
We've broken down and cried.
We want to tell you something,
So there won't be any doubt,
You're so wonderful to think of.
But so hard to be without.
Love and miss you sooooo much.Grandma
