Today I pass the friendship ball to you. Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you...
Always try to help a friend in need
Believe in yourself
Be brave...but it's ok to be afraid sometimes
Study hard
Give lots of kisses
Laugh often
Don't be overly concerned with your weight, it's just a number
Always try to see the glass half full
Meet new people, even if they look different to you
Remain calm, even when it seems hopeless
Take lots of naps..
Be weird whenever you have the chance
Love your friends, no matter who they are
Don't waste food
RELAX
Take an occasional risk
Try to have a little fun each day. ...it's important
Work together as a team
Share a joke with friends
Fall in love with someone..
...and say 'I love you' often
Express yourself creatively
Be conscious of your appearance
Always be up for surprises
Love someone with all of your heart
Share with friends
Watch your step
It will get better
There is always someone who loves you more than you know
Exercise to keep fit
Live up to your name
Seize the Moment
Hold on to good friends; they are few and far between
Indulge in the things you truly love
Cherish every Sunday
At the end of the day... PRAY
....... and close your eyes
And smile at least once a day!

A Keeper
Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now, Dad in trousers, work shirt and a hat; and Mom in a house dress, lawn mower in one hand, and dish-towel in the other.
It was the time for fixing things: a curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress. Things we keep.
It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, re-heating leftovers, renewing; I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.
But when my mother died, and I was standing in that clear morning light in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more.
Sometimes, what we care
about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return. So... While we have it, it's best we love it... And care for it... And fix it when it's broken... And heal it when it's sick. This is true: For marriage... And old cars... And children with bad report cards. Dogs and cats with bad hips... And aging
parents... And grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep, like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special... And so, we keep them close!
I received this from someone who thinks I am a 'keeper,' so I've sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send this to those people that are "keepers" in your life.
Good friends are like stars... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there!

boy do the scams ever stop ??? take heed !!
Subject: Credit Card Info
Be sure to read Scene 3 Quite interesting.
SCENE 1.
This is a new one.
People sure stay busy trying to cheat us, don't they?
A friend went to the local gym and placed his belongings in the locker.
After the workout and a shower, he came out, saw the locker open, and thought
to himself, "Funny, I thought I locked the locker.
Hmm, "He dressed and just flipped the wallet to make sure all was in
order.
Everything looked okay - all cards were in place.
A few weeks later his credit card bill came - a whooping bill of $14,000!
He called the credit card company and started yelling at them, saying that he
did not make the transactions.
Customer care personnel verified that there was no Mistake in the system
and asked if his card had been stolen.
"No," he said, but then took out his wallet, pulled out the credit
card, and yep - you guessed it - a switch had been made.
An expired similar credit card from the same bank was in the wallet.
The thief broke into his locker a t the gym and switch ed cards.< /I>
Verdict: The credit card issuer said since he did not report the card missing
earlier, he would have to pay the amount owed to them.
How much did he have to pay for items he did not buy?
$9,000! Why were there no calls made to verify the amount swiped?
Small amounts rarely trigger a "warning bell" with some credit card
companies.
It just so happens that all the small amounts added up to big one!
SCENE 2.
A man at a local restaurant paid for his meal with his credit card.
The bill for the meal came, he signed it,and the waitress folded the receipt
and passed the credit card along.
Usually, he would just take it and place it in his wallet or pocket.
Funny enough, though, he actually took a look at the card and, lo and
behold, it was the expired card of another person.
He called the waitress and she looked perplexed.
She took it ba ck, apologized, and hurried back to the counter under the
watchful eye of the man.
All the waitress did while walking to the counter was wave the wrong expired
card to the counter cashier, and the counter cashier immediately looked down
and took out the real card.
No exchange of words --- nothing! She took it and came back to the man with an
apology.
Verdict:
Make sure the credit cards in your wallet are yours.
Check the name on the card every time you sign for something and/or the card is
taken away for even a short period of time.
Many people just take back the credit card without even looking at it,
"assuming" that it has to be theirs.
FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, DEVELOP THE H ABIT OF CHECKING YOU R CREDIT CARD EACH TIME
IT IS RETURNED TO YOU AFTER A TRANSACTION!
SCENE 3:
Yesterday I went into a pizza restaurant to pick up an order that I had called
in.
I paid by using my Visa Check Card which, of course, is linked directly
to my checking account.
The young man behind the counter took my card, swiped it, then laid it on
the counter as he waited for the approval, which is pretty standard procedure.
While he waited, he picked up his cell phone and started dialing.
I noticed the phon e because it is the same model I have, bu t nothing seemed
out of the ordinary. Then I heard a click that sounded like my phone
sounds when I take a
picture.
He then gave me back my card but kept the phone in his hand as if he was still
pressing buttons.
Meanwhile, I'm thinking: I wonder what he is taking a picture of, oblivious to
what was really going on.
It then dawned on me: the only thing there was my credit card, so now I'm paying
close attention to what he is doing.
He set his phone on the counter, leaving it open.
About five seconds later, I heard the chime that tells you that the picture has
been saved.
Now I'm standing there struggling with the fact that this boy just took a
picture of my credit card.
Yes, he played it off well, because had we not had the same kind of phone, I
probably would never have known what happened.
Needless t o say, I immediately canceled that card as I was wa lking out of the
pizza parlor..
All I am saying is, be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Whenever you are using your credit card take caution and don't be
careless.
Notice who is standing near you and what they are doing when you use your card.
Be aware of phones, because many have a camera phone these days.
When you are in a restaurant and the waiter/waitress brings your card and
receipt for you to sign, make sure you scratch the number off.
Some restaurants are using only the last four digits, but a lot of them
are still putting the whole thing on there.
I have already been a victim of credit card fraud and, believe me, it is not
fun. The truth is that they can get you even when you are careful, but don't
make it easy for them.
FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN THINK OF. LET'S GET
THE WORD OUT! JUST BE AWARE

My support group is working on making a memory quilt. The quilt will have one square (8 x 11”) dedicated to someone who has passed away.
I am working on designing a square for the quilt in memory of Brett. I am adding a list of things he loved. If you know of something he loved to add to the list, you can post it or email me off list at pmorrisb@gmail. com. For example, I know he like to go to the comedy club, perhaps you know the name of his favorite comedian, etc.
I would love to hear of any of his loved things even if they are a no-no… you may want to email me off list with those…

I remembered when he was little he loved Star Wars & Rocky. I don't know why that's what is coming to mind, but everytime I see Star Wars or here Eye of the Tiger I think of him. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to come over today, but it is also my brother-in-laws birthday today and I had to have dinner and cake over there. If you have anymore pics of Brett and get a chance would you please send them to me. Thanks.

On this 6th anniversary of Brett's death, I look to focus on memories of the joy of knowing him and less on the sorrow of his loss.
I plan on going through some photo albums tonight, anyone in the area between 7 -9PM is welcome to stop by.

My support group is working on making a memory quilt. The quilt will have one square (8 x 11”) dedicated to someone who has passed away.
I am working on designing a square for the quilt in memory of Brett. I am adding a list of things he loved. If you know of something he loved to add to the list, you can post it or email me off list at pmorrisb@gmail.com. For example, I know he like to go to the comedy club, perhaps you know the name of his favorite comedian, etc.

the day brings both pain and delight.. I think of him often and reminisce when going through photos.. I still avoid thinking about this day as it brings a wave of panic, sadness and helplessness.. I like thinking of him the other 364 days of the year more since it will either have me laughing or saying "pain in the ass" and getting a hug..
OK, Brett listened to Song Sung Blue by Neil Diamond and if he could right now, he would just deny it, I'm sure. But many times at my mothers house I would hear that song playing.......
