About yearly MRIs.
?
It has been 11-1/2 ?years since I had a left cavernous sinus meningioma surgery
done.? I have had an MRI done every year afterwards to keep a watch.? But last
year
the local neurosurgeon whom I have been seeing wanted to move my MRI to every 2
years instead and when I didn't like that so much, said let's compromise and
make it in 1-1/2 years.
?
Well, now after this year, my insurance has met the deductibles and is covering
my visits and meds for 100%, so naturally I would like to change my MRI to
this year (which would be Dec) instead of waiting until next year June for the
1-1/2 year wait.
?
Why would a neurosurgeon make me wait?? He thinks since it hasn't changed in 11
years, we can wait a little longer in between visits.? He hasn't done any
MRA's (I had my left carotid artery replaced during my brain tumor surgery
procedure) and I recently went through my files from my brain tumor surgery and
there is a note saying I should have a yearly MRA.
?
Sometimes I think the medical profession is sneaky and you have to keep a close
watch on everyone.? What can I say to this neurosurgeon to make him
agree to a yearly MRI/MRA??? Isn't it more necessary to have one done yearly?
?
Thanks for any information.
