Hi Susan,
How wonderful that you have this knowledge to help children in need. I am happy
to hear it has worked well for Ian.
I am a personal trainer and huge into nutrition and natural/safe alternatives to
health. It sounds as though nutrition was a key factor in Ian's recovery
because the family had tried so many other wonderful therapies before the right
diet changes were made. Being with you for 2 months should give the family a
good start at keeping this new healthy diet habit going at home.
When I changed my son's (and family's) diet, that's when his recovery started.
I also added natural supplements and homeopathics as his daily routine. These
changes in diet coupled with intensive physical and educational programs I put
together for him, turned things around very quickly for my son.
Within the first month, we had eye contact, he started talking again and he
started playing with other children. Plus... the night terrors and falling out
of bed were gone. Each month, brought leaps and bounds worth of success and by
the end of 6 months, I really felt like I had my son back. I could finally
relax and know that he was going to be ok.
When he turned 3, he was officially medically tested and they could not place
him anywhere on the spectrum. A little delayed socially, they said as he
interacted more and more, that would come with time. It has.
Today, my son is 7 years old, is in a regular 2nd grade class and doing
wonderfully. Our county finally offers gifted and talented programs starting in
3rd grade and we are eagerly looking forward to getting him the attention he
needs. Why? Remember, autistics are very, very smart. My son started reading
books at 2 1/2 and his factual memory banks are wide open - helping him excel in
math, history, spelling, and well practically anything.
So, thank you for sharing your experience and letting others know there is hope,
there are answers.
Sincerely,
Terry Hill
