Re: [B.I.Child] DNR

My heart aches for you.  I know this has to have been a hard and painful decion to make.
It is the kind of thing no one should ever have to consider let alone decide.  However with life not being fair, Many have had to face such harsh realties.
I have always said that we need to fight tooth and nail to do all we can for our loved ones.  To argue with the doctors and so called experts when we know in our hearts and souls that our hope is real.
However, sadly for some  there also comes a time to realize it would be kinder to let go.  Sometimes life in this world is more of curse, a sort of no living of any real life, even though the body is there, all that makes a person who or what they are is gone, or beyond our reach.  Only each person can know in their own heart and soul when that time comes.
True many may not understand.  I am sorry that will add to your grief and pain.
I both admire and respect you.  You are not seeking to harm your child, only to allow nature to take it's own course.   In your shoes there are no easy answers.  I hope my words can give you some comfort.  If I can help in any way please feel free to email me anytime
My heart and prayers go out to and for you and all of yours
maggie

Subject: [B.I.Child] DNR

I know this is a touchy subject and some people don't agree with me.
We just got home from the hospital again and 1 day later went back.
baby percy has been on oxygen and his whole brain except for his stem
and cerebellum is dead. A very sad day for me. When they told me in
the beginning it was bad I knew it was but didn't realize it was that
bad! It has taken about a week but I have decided that if he goes into
respritory or cardiac arrest, I do not want resesitation. My family is
angry with me. They don't understand that his sats and vitals almost
always are good. He may not go through arrest for years! But if he
dies, I don't want them to bring him back. He is somewhat in pain
sometimes and it hurts me. Has anyone else decided the same thing....I
kind of feel like a monster...
