Birth Support Network (BSN) based in the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA metropolitan area was founded as a support group for women serving women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum times. BSN strives to be a vibrant, multi-generational community committed to supporting and educating women who are doulas, educators and advocates of empowered birthing and confident mothering.

This Yahoo Group is to keep us connected. It's an opportunity for us to discuss issues related to meetings, share upcoming trainings and events, and pregnancy, birth and postpartum topics in general or specific to our local area.

BSN gathers at Alma Midwifery's meeting space, 1233 SE Stark, Portland, OR, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm on the second Monday of each month. Our monthly meetings include educational speakers and events. Starting in September 2011, non-members will be charged a $5 drop-in fee for these meetings.

The membership year for BSN is from Dec 1 through Nov 30 of the following year. The 2011-2012 membership dues are $35. Membership benefits include a listing on our website, free attendance at our monthly Monday meetings, and discounts on workshops and other BSN events. BSN members are also eligible to join DONA International for a reduced fee of $25/yr, during November of each year.
