Welcome to the Birmingham Birth Coaltion(BBC). Our organization is a lil' sprout of our mommy group, Alabama Birth Coalition(www.alabamabirth.org). We meet monthly to organize and plan lobbying efforts for the Certified Professional Midwife bill. Alabama is one of the few states that prohibits midwives from assisting women as they birth out of hopsital. Our goal is to remedy such restrictive legislation by encouraging famillies in Birmingham and across the state to contact their legislators and get involved with this legislative effort.
