Birmingham Alabama Autism Support Group (For Families Only)

The mission of the Birmingham Alabama Support Group is to provide general information that would benefit parents and other caregivers in their care of children and adults on the autism spectrum. We welcome your ideas, questions, concerns, experiences and recommendations. We also ask participants to observe the following four rules:

1. Remain focused. Please limit your messages to those that would be of interest to the group. Do not send personal messages to specific individuals through this listserve.
2. Maintain confidentiality. Please do not send posts from this list to someone who is not a participant of this list.
3. Respect others. Everyone's family is unique, and everyone has the right to their own opinions about what is right for their child. Please do not make comments which disrespect the views of others.
4. No advertising. Please do not use this listserve as a means of selling (non-autism) products. A person living on the spectrum may advertise their products or services in order to maintain or gain independence.

Breaking these rules will have consequences. The moderator has the right to change the status of a member so that the member's postings will be screened prior to being posted to the rest of the group. The moderator may also ban members for repeated violations or even one violation that is particularly offensive.
