Subject: URGENT! CHLORAMINE ALERT

Monday morning at 8AM, listen to radio station KPFA 94.1FM. Denise will be on The Morning Show with Philip Moldari, a live radio program about chloramine. David Spath of the State Dept of Health (opposed to chloramine) and Jennifer Clary of Clean Water Action (opposed to chloramine) also will be on the program. Please listen and call in with a question.
We want to really light up their phone switchboard. The number is (510) 848-3812.

Some sample questions are -
I've heard Los Altos is having problems with high lead levels. Is this related to chloramine and is it happening anywhere else on the Hetch Hetchy system?
Why can't I find a filter for my shower that has been approved by the NSF?
When I'm home, I have (list your symptoms). They go away when I'm in a place that uses chlorine as the water disinfectant. Is this happening with anyone else?
I'm sure you can come up with your own question as you listen to the program.

I've been advised that the best way to get your question on the air is to not tell the pre-screener that you are affiliated with CCAC and do not say that you have symptoms - just say you have a question about plumbing or the effectiveness of chloramine or filtration etc.
Thank you for your support!

The next CCAC meetings will be:
Pacifica - This Wednesday, April 11th at the Sharp Park Library (Palmetto and Hilton) at 7PM
Los Altos - This Wednesday, April 11th at the Heritage Bank of Commerce (369 South San Antonio Rd.) at 7PM
Los Altos - Wednesday, April 18th at the Heritage Bank of Commerce at 7PM (see address above)
Foster City - Tuesday, April 24th at the Treasure Isle Homeowner's Cabana at 763 Comet DR at 7PM

We will be reviewing the radio broadcast, the latest information from the Vermont State Legislature (Denise gave testimony to them on chloramine), and the Assembly Bill AB559 should be printed by the time we meet in Foster City. We also will be getting ready for the election of new CCAC board members - we are especially looking for some people to share the secretarial duties.

Please call Denise (650) 328-0424 or me (650) 355-6447 or email me lindacor@... if you have any questions or comments. We always like to hear from you.

Take Care,
Linda
