Remember they have high paid lawyers that keep them out of trouble
even if it is just barely and thier job is to find ways that they can
lable to satisfy the goverment laws and give the client what they want.
This is a great point, Rhonda.....big business is all about number
crunching. Sometimes the price of a fine can be the best advertising
there is, as crazy as it sounds. On the other end of that continuum, if
they believe they will make a 30% increase in profit by mislabelling
but only lose 5% in fines or such, many bussiness will take the
profit.....I have worked retail my whole adult life and while they KNOW
they are breaking labor laws much of the time, everyone does it. they
know they will get away with it enough for it to pay. Again, all about
number crunching. Auto makers have been caught doing the same with
safety features. Sad, scary, but true. You don't want to inadvertently
copy something you don't understand, best to follow the laws.
