Hi Everyone!
This is very late! i just finished Pushed. I loved
this book...I am have been MIA since I've been in
midwifery school and I also started a new job as an L
and D nurse. Reading this book while working on the
labor floor was great. I resisted this line of work
since I've been a nurse, as some others mentioned, it
is really hard to see the injustice that goes on. I
just want to encourage those of you (including
Jillian!). We need more people who believe in birth on
these L and D units. Everyday I make a huge difference
in these women's birth experience, sometimes more than
if I was in an environment where everyone thought
birth is normal. It took a long time to get here
though, and I definitely couldn't do it forever.
Also, since I've read both of this month's books a few
times, I think I can participate w/ out falling behind
in school. And I would love, love, love to be in on
the call.
Hope everyone is well!
Rebecca
