I've read your emails on this with interest. Fortunately I'm on the Kidney
tx waiting list, not heart. But from what I've heard, there is a shortage of
Transplant surgeons because, (i) the work is often during anti social hours
ie middle of the night, (ii) is sometimes at short notice so could be in
addition to a full days work (and mean that the surgeon's other patients get
ops cancelled) and (iii) there's no extra money for doing the transplants.

I don't belive technical skills are the problem.
