Hello!

There are 2 subjects in this post, one of those subjects could
be 'tricky' and I ask you to understand that this is my personal wish
after many years of thought.

Subject 1
Many years ago I declared my intention by adding my name and address
to a form which was to have become part of a national database, I was
not offered money or other incentive to do this so, took it on trust.

I have no further information and, have changed my address several
times.

Can anyone update me, could you offer a range of Internet Sites to
the same end ie. Intention to Donate Organs (Any, All etc)

Subject 2
Having given this deep thought I ask, is there any method by which I
can 'opt-out' of an organ transplant in the following areas:

I am poorly and have all my mental facilities?
I am poorly and have lost some / all of my mental facilities?
I am unconscious or in a coma and a transplant would save my life?

Bearing in mind that probably the only person you could contact for
advice would be my daughter, at present 17yrs.

However, in each case I would accept a battery-powered, plastic.
metal, other non-organic transplant.

In conclusion.
The choice to 'opt-in' for donation is to me, obvious and did not
take much thought.

The choice to 'opt-out' and refuse a donation took a long time to
become clear, it would take hours to describe why I take this path.
However, one of my thoughts was for Children and Youth who would have
many more years of productive life given the chance of a transplant
ie. an organ which had been given to me saving a young life.

(Me? I'm 51 now)

In Peace ~ Aleyn
