Hi Gamma,
This might now be true of Jehovah's Witnesses, I, read about the bloodless
transplants, but it is only recently, I was on dialysis with a Jehovah's
Whiteness who wouldn't have a transplant because of the blood problem, he
died three years ago.

Hello Gemma,
Welcome and thank you for your question to this Group.
In fact Jehovah's Witnesses are not against organ donation and
transplantation.
This is because all free blood is perfused (flushed) out of all donated
organs.
Recently, in the USA, a Jehovah's Witness had a bloodless liver transplant.
In
fact all the major western religions support organ donation. Some actively
promote organ donation; others passively, they say it's OK when asked;
others
are noncommital, they have no viewpoint. However all say it is down to the
individual and their own conscience as to what they do regarding
organ/tissue
donation and/or their family. It is therefore very important to tell one's
family, close relatives and friends about donation wishes and likewise to
know
these peoples choices in case that person is asked what to do about a
possible
donation from their family, relatives and friends.
There are only four cultures that I know are against organ donation.
The largest is Shinto, a Japanese religion. Also Romany Gypsies;
Rastafarians
and Christian Scientists II (Christian Scientists I appear to support
donation).
Please ask any specific questions you may wish to.
Good luck
John Evans
