Michelle Boyle ran the London Marathon some 26.2 miles in 4h27m. This was her
first marathon which she completed despite the fact she was recovering from a
previous knee injury. Her singlet promoted BODY and organ donation. However, we
all owe Michelle a debt of gratitude (if not a donation!). She is a New
Zealander and is a nurse at Guys Hospital, London, where she is helping out
because of our staff shortages! More poignantly her brother died in 2001 and
was a mutli-organ donor. Michelle's marathon run, in memory of her brother, was
also to raise funds for her chosen charity BODY - please see end of this page.
Deborah Duval is currently walking the 117 miles from Oxford to Westminster.
She will be arriving at College Green (aka Abingdon Green) Westminster at about
2.30 - 3.00pm this Bank Holiday Monday. This is the end of her 117 Mile Walk.
Again she has been very successful in promoting the need for organ donors and
also BODY. Deborah is a kidney pancreas recipient who has since had a
replacement kidney transplant. She is not in the best of health since she now
needs a replacement pancreas transplant. But despite this she has made
excellent progress and has attracted much media involvement and dignitary
support in increasing public awareness regarding organ donation. Deborah would
also welcome donations in support of her demanding effort.
