Speaking personally, it depends what is meant by the views of the relatives.
Some people use that to mean asking the relatives what the, sadly, deceased
would have wanted to happen or not happen. Whereas others mean actually
asking the relatives what they themselves want to happen or not happen. I am
all in favour of the former, it may be the only way of determining what the
deceased would have wanted. But to ask the newly bereaved if they themselves
want the organs of someone very close to them to be removed is, in my
opinion, both very insensitive and may prevent the wishes of the deceased
being carried out.
