Hi all

I just wanted to give a brief update of the ASA meeting for those of
you who could not make it. Here's what you missed:

FUNDRAISER :
April is Autism Awareness Month
ASA-Kal/Bck's
3rd Annual
Walk About Talk About Autism

Saturday, April 22*
Portage Celery Flats

We need volunteers, pledges and walkers.

Contact Trina Wood at
twood@... or 800-628-6421, ext. 1.

This was fun last year, even though it rained and snowed (oh, and my
children screamed and cried almost the whole time...probably they
won't make it this year!)

Also, there was a speaker, Bill Nason. He gave us a ton of handouts
regarding the fragile world on the spectrum. He believes that to the
ASD child the world is confusing and overwhelming. He is the first
person I have read or seen who believes in a multitude of
treatments, including ABA, TEACCH, Floortime, RDI, OT (including
brushing and deep pressure), GF/CF Diet, chelation, epsom salt
bathes, vitamin supplements, and if needed medication.

He is currently involved with RDI-which I know little about, but did
ABA for years. I am researching RDI currently to see if any of its
components may work with Hayley. (if you are interested in finding
out more go to www.rdiconnect.com -you will have to type that in
your address line).

If anyone would like copies of his powerpoint presentation or other
hand outs from that meeting, let me know!

Heather
