I just want to share with you some awesome things about Alex.
He has become a very strong swimmer this summer and has learned to jump off the diving board (Joy is doing these things as well)!
Last night (and this is THE BEST), Joy wanted to spend the night at their friend's Luna and Hailey's. Alex wanted to, too!!! I left to go get pjs and stuff and when I came back, he practically pushed me out the door saying "See ya later, bye bye" over and over again. He hasn't spent the night at a friend's house since he was 2 by himself. He CHOSE to do this. I didn't get any calls yet...but then, it's morning...this is soooo cool. Charlie and I could "do things". It was nice.
Alex is talking a lot more, too. Lots of video speak (lifting lines from movies and video games) and practicing using them and then inserting them where they belong. IE..if someone jumps off the diving board, he says "GOOD JOB, or That's awesome!
Tuesday, Paws for a Cause is coming to look at our house to see if it is suitable for a service dog. They are starting a trial using service dogs with kids with autism. I think this will be a BIG help for Alex with focus. So, we may be getting a dog soon.
Speaking of focus, Alex is doing the Wii Fit's Yoga! OF all the times I did yoga in front of him and he would either ignore me or jump all over me, I didn't think he noticed......ha ha. Now, he's picking it up on his own. When it gets to the more complex moves, he wants me to do them with him. He actually pulls me to the living room to do it! He's learning words from here, too, like "good evening". Yes, the Wii knows what time of day it is.
Every day he grows and wakes up a little bit more. I feel so blessed and I am genuinely thankful, for who knows what tomorrow will bring.
