Well, it's been a busy summer and I miss you guys!!! Hayley has going to Kim's Korral and loves being on the horse-thanks again Cyd for sharing this resource with us! Both kids are still going to speech at South Shore, that is when we are not camping or swimming in the pool or going to the beach! I'm sure everyone is busy with their own lives as well!
I wanted to share some exciting information with everyone. At some point this summer, the wonderful man I am dating decided he wanted to hold a fundraiser to benefit Autism. He thought doing a motorcycle rally would be fun and so the planning began. We struggled for a bit trying to decide where the money should go exactly and finally chose to start our own non profit organization so that we have control of how the money is handled. (it's not that we don't think highly of other organizations in the area, but we think being smaller we will be able to cut through more of the red tape and do things the way we want). All that being said, The Hayley's ride foundation was created and is a legit non-profit organization. We hope to do several things in the community, including grants for speech and scholarships for students going into special education.
I encourage you to check out our website www.hayleysride.org and let me know what you think!
Our fundraiser will be held on September 7, 2008 and everyone is welcome (if you don't ride, you can join us afterwards for food, door prizes, music and fun!)
Hope to hear from you soon!
Heather
