Hello all,

My name is Joseph Cautilli, Ph.D., BCBA, LPC. I am a member of ABA wth a
strong interest in health. I have been involved in behavioral psychology for
many years and have had a long standing interest in weight (recently loosing
about 50 lbs but gained about 7 back) and other health prevention efforts. I
have a seasonal weight change of about 5-10lbs gaining just before winter
and then loosing at spring.

I mostly used daily weighings and charted my weight loss, increased my rate
of excercise (walking to work and walking at lunch with friends) and
adjusted my eating patterns according to the scale reading that morning
(planned meals for the day). I have a picture of myself on my bedroom of
what I looked like at 253 (ugh!!!) and that serves as my motivational
reminder. I frequenly celebrate my success and I think that I am doing good.
I still eat icecream (mostly Turkey Hill or Bryers- those other ones are
very much out) but instead of every night about 2-3 times/week, the other
nights I have jello or a small pudding.

I am the founder of four journals to of which have published articles on
behavioral weight loss programs, the Behavior Analyst Today, the
International Journal of Behavioral Consultation and Therapy, the Journal of
Early and Intensive Behavioral Intervention, and the Journal of Speech and
Language Pathology and Applied Behavior Analysis. All the journals are free
at www.behavior-analyst-online.org

In addition, to the above I developed and teach most of the courses in the
Applied Behavior Analysis concentration at St. Joseph's University in
Philadelphia. In our course five (Clinical Behavior analysis and
Organizational Behavior Management) we cover behavioral counseling pretty
extensively. We focus on weight reduction, pain management, smoking
cessation and substance abuse problems....

Anyhow, this is a little about me....

Joe
