Rosalyn...funny..strange ..that you would mention the Black Plague...after watching History Channel special last night it has been much on my mind (NOTE: this group began the next day)...I have been agooglin'...Very interesting points you make re: Roger Bacon// EdwardIII//gunpowder//fertility (&any ex-military can vouch for salt peter's effectiveness)

Couple of quick points ..

1.) In my mind, perhaps the mother of all conspiracies has to do with population control.  I can theorize that since the mid 19thC..Civil War/Spanish Flu/WWI//WWII//Russian Rev//Stalin//etc.. our knowledge and "technology" was such that a human plan could have been at work...but, how can we account for the Plagues of 1347 and 1665? (which, incidentally, are generally attributed to different agents..fleas vs airborne)  before we even had germ theory....Perhaps our technology was  greater than history books remember?

and 2.) The first hour and half of last night's PLAGUE special dealt with the spread..out of China/Blk Sea/Venice/etc and the HORRORS and seemingly almost total morbidity...but the last portion of the program dwelt on the benefits..

a.) as you point out, incredible FERTILITY ..and the survivors that were creating next generation were the healthiest..

b.) Diet changed from grain to fruits/vegetables/even meat

c.) First was precursor to Rennaissance//2nd to Industrial Revolution...not enough bodies to do it the old fashioned way..even Gutenberg mentioned..moveable type was  now a "Mother Necessity"..

No big deal..EXCEPT...every google..egBlk death//Blk Plague death rates//survival rate..plague 1347vs1665..bubonic vs blk death..etc..comes up in the header with the same rosy scenario painted by the documentary's final segment...almost as if written by the same hand..is this the "OFFICIAL LINE"..?

I will research until I can see..no, I'm not nuts.haven't made up mind on anything(other than current AVIAN threat is total b.s without outside NGO/Gov influence)...but one would be naive to and foolish to believe that everything he's been told is factual..
