This group is for children or Adults in the State of Tennessee who have Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that impairs an individual's ability to process and integrate information and effects their ability to communicate and learn. Autism affects each of the 5 senses and causes either very acute functioning or sometimes non-existent consistence. Finally, understand that your child will improve and grow stronger over time. Raising a child with Autism can lead you down a very different path than the one you may have planned. It is okay to feel depression, joy, anger, frustration and burn-out. You cannot avoid it. Only understand it and work through it. We are all here to help you laugh, cry, scream and rejoice with you. It's not an easy job. Some people think God picked us for parents because we had the special talents these kids needed. My daughter Courtney is the best thing that ever happened to me.
