(aicag) alt.support.autism – usenet newsgroup – some general
comments

1. So far as I can determine, with Google searches at
http://groups.google.com/groups , anything ever posted on a usenet
newsgroup, such as alt.support.autism ("a.s.a."), is there
indefinitely, which for a.s.a. means every post since it started on
January 8, 1998. Even if a poster has completely changed his mind
about the post, the post remains there without change. Although a
reply may be able to be posted to change the information, it may not
necessarily be by found someone searching the internet. A big problem
with this situation is that a Google search is so easy and so
efficient. Therefore, any person posting to a usenet newsgroup
should be aware of this situation and act accordingly.

2. In contrast, a message to a yahoo!group can at least be deleted,
although it cannot be revised. If a message is deleted, it is
noticed because the message number is skipped on the list of
messages. There are a number of posts to alt.support.autism to which
I intend to prepare an additional comment, which I currently plan to
post as messages to the yahoo!group AutismAG at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutismAG/ . Where I wish to do so, I
now plan to go to such posts on alt.support.autism and post the
following notice as a reply:

"Please go to the webpage http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutismAG/
where you will find the heading:

AUTISM ON THE INTERNET – COMMENTS OF ARTHUR GOLDEN (aicag)

I intend to prepare an additional comment on the above-referenced
message. A link to any such comment will be given at the location
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutismAG/ . If and when any additional
comment is made on such a private website, I will try to post a
notice."

3. The above notice may also be used for messages to a yahoo!group
or other discussion boards, etc. For frequent posters to the
Internet, my plans might be a good idea for them to do too. Of
course, I now have to implement my plans and see if they really are a
good idea.

4. Currently, any person can send me a message to the the yahoo!
group AutismAG at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutismAG/ and I can
post it if I wish. I promise the poster that he/she has the right to
delete such message at any time, but I have to make the deletion. I
do believe in full disclosure, so I will most likely accept such
messages and even initiate posting information from the public domain
(such as usenet newsgroups) which contains negative comments about me.

5. The home page for the yahoo!group AutismAG at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutismAG/ now has the additional
information:

"AUTISM ON THE INTERNET – COMMENTS OF ARTHUR GOLDEN (aicag)

Please go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutismAG/messages for
messages that are proceeded with the code (aicag). Such messages
contain the comments of Arthur Golden to various information on
Autism on the Internet. As of July 14, 2003, 1 such message has been
posted."
