The J of neurochemistry published research out of basil swiz. The
purpose of the study was to determine whether or not mercury could be
chelated from brain tissue in vitro with pineal meltonin. results
were that 1-when brain tissue was either pretreated with melatonin
befor mercury exposure or 2-mercury was mixed with melatonin brfore
mercury exposure NO neurotoxicity occured as seen when brain tissue
was exposed to just mercury. The reason for the study was a search
for treatment for alzheimers disease on the premise that alzheimers
disease is associated with low level mercury toxicity from
enviornment. I have just detoxed my two kids with DMSA and 1mg
melatonin at bed time. I started the melatonin 4 mo ago and DMSA 2
mo ago. They no longer have autism pdd or an auditory processing
problem. They are "normal" and cleared by a ped neuro as well as
their PT, OT and Speech therap( in tx for years). They now attend a
reg day camp, have many friends, are social, full of spunk, and
accepted to school without any special designation. They went from
severe audiory processing disorder, to normal and understand what is
said even telling jokes and plays on words. I am still numb. after
all these years I still am waiting for another shoe to drop.
Hopefully I get used to having normal kids like I had to learn to
accept that they had autism.
