Re: [Autism-Mercury] Re: Cost of Chelation???

>People give it lots of ways. I see your son does not swallow pills.

>it is one option.....

I highly suggest trying to teach him to swallow a pill. I did this with my
son when he was 4.5 years of age. He hates lumpy, cruncy and crusty things,
so I knew swallowing a pill would be a challenge. However, he was
prescribed Celexa and there is only one way to take that. This is what I
did. My son is highly motivated by candy and ice cream. I first choose
candy. I put the candy in a bowl in front of him, and in front of the bowl
was the pill. I instructed him that he had to swallow the pill or he would
get no candy. I saved my vitamins and supplements as demonstration. I
showed him how to put the pill on the back of his tongue, drink water, and
swallow. I take about 8 supplements a day, so I swallowed all of them for
him. It took him 4 pills before he did it. I made a huge deal over it and
gave him his candy. Now he will only take medicine in pill form. He
refuses any liquid medication. Just an FYI: All my kids take medicine in
pill form. Once they watched their brother do it, they all wanted to. My
daughter just turned 4 and she takes it this way, no problem

I don't know if this will work for you, but it's worth a shot.

Paula
