Dear Andy, Moria, Bernie, Ping and everybody,

I find this egroup so informative. Thank you for
teaching me so much about chelation.

I read about cilantro being a possible chelator of
mercury and started giving it to my 4 year old
autistic son, Noah on 24 Sept this year. I give him
about 2 to 3 tsps of dried organic cilantro together
with his meals (he has 4 meals a day 8.30 am, 12 noon,
3.00 pm and 6.30 pm). I divide the 2 to 3 tsps into
4 parts.

About 3 to 4 days ago I noticed he suddenly became
very lethargic, sleepy and weak. He would loll on the
sofa or bed the whole day and not take an interest in
anything. He lost his appetite and would take very
long naps (about 3 hours). He used to be so talkative
and bubbly. He was very brightand chirpy at the end of
the day even without any naps. Now he doesn’t want to
get out of the bed in the morning and keeps yawning
the whole day. He gets sleepy at ten in the morning
and sleeps through lunch.

Noah is PST deficient and has hypothyroidism. He had a
complete blood count done 2 days ago and the results
show low MCV and MCH, Hb 11.0g/dL. What does that mean
? Could this be caused by the cilantro ?

I have included his lab test results which were done
at the end of July as well as his supplement schedule
which commenced at the end of August this year. Would
appreciate your comments.

Presently he is taking the following daily : -

Noah also receives two topical applications of
magnesium sulfate cream (1g each) daily. I also smear
iodine over him to boost his thyroid. Supplements in
capsules are given as powder with capsules removed. I
have recently stopped his Cranberry extract after
giving him 400 mg per day for 1.5 weeks. He recently
finished 2 months of Nystatin at 4 ml (400,000 units)
daily. I intend to increase the EPO slowly to 2600 mg
within 6 weeks then add 1 tsp of liquid CLO from
Kirkman's.

Noah is very fair and sometimes looks rather pale.
He turns yellow easily even though he doesn’t consume
much carrots, sweet potatoes or papaya.
His ears were often hot and red. Now they are much
better since his started the Feingold diet from mid
September 2001.
Noah has chronic dark circles around the eyes. He also
has cold hands and feet at times and itchy eyes as
well.
He also urinates a lot at night.

Am I correct to say that his current state of weakness
is due to excessive cilantro intake ?

Do you know of anyone with damaged liver and kidney
function or low blood count due to excessive cilantro
intake ?

Do I need to send him for liver and kidney function
tests ?

I have already stopped the cilantro. If his condition
is due to the cilantro, how long do you think it takes
for him to recover his energy ?

When I read Andy’s comments about cilantro as a
chelator, I regretted giving him so much cilantro for
a month without a break. I should have been more
careful.

Would really appreciate your help in answering my
questions. Thanks a million to you all.
God bless !

Warmest regards,

Florence
