Dear parents-further-along-than-we,

Thomas is four, has autism, and has just finished his fifth round of
chelation with DMSA only. Among the many positive developments, he
has recently sprouted a distinct case of the "terrible twos" --
deliberate, testing defiance and naughtiness. Much as I'm pleased to
see this developmental stage arrive (better late than never!) I have
no intention of raising a tiny tyrant, and need to encourage his
budding independence while squelching the brattiness.

Anybody else gone through this, and did you handle it differently
than you would've a typically-developing two-year-old who did the
same things?

Thanks

Cathy

Jane El-Dahr told me that it is typical for children who did not go through the terrible twos at the right time, to go through this stage during chelation. ...

Hi, My son is 3 1/2 and he also went through a "terrible twos" phase after beginning chelation. It seems to be passing just like it does with any other child....
