But I do need to tell you that my older son who completely shut out the
eye-hand coordination area, both because of fear of new things, and because
of CP developing in his hands is now WANTING to go back and work on the
stuff he missed the first time! And he is having some success--a lot more
than before--so he has some impetus to keep developing some manual
dexterity. He tells me it is easier now because the distances between
objects is accurate, where it wasn't before. (According to Moria, this is
an effect of arsenic poisoning, and boy have we been getting arsenic out, as
well as mercury and others.) We were also dealing with sensory sensitivity,
and difficulty with his proprioceptive system, so it will be interesting to
see if any of these issues have resolved????

> Have you read the research published by Dr. Gina Green on repairing the
damage done to the brain (autism) using aba? The theory is complex but in a
nutshell says that there is evidence (still theory) that
reward\reinforcement center in the brain ,when stimulated, creates a
chemical reaction that allows for new synapses to be formed. Thus the
climate in the brain is more receptive to acquiring new behavior,
communication , and social skills. Older individuals would not see as quick
an improvement in these areas because they produce considerably less
cells(?) with which to create new synapses. This is why early intervention
is considered critical for our kids. Perhaps this is why older kids don't
show the "immediate" improvement that very young children do. Nonetheless
would you not think that an educational program using lots of reinforcement
could produce substantial improvement over time now that the metals are out
of the brain? ( I know an elderly man who reclaimed a drama!
