fingernail vertical ridges and pitting   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #260383 of 271793 |
My ASD son has both of these - and I need to figure out the cause.
He is a close-to-recovery 10yo who has an annual yeast flare in spring.

My son describes his nails as having "holes", but really it is pitting. All the
info I found says that means psoriasis, BUT he has no indications of that. His
skin is perfect.

I've found all kinds of mixed info re the cause of vertical ridges - B12
deficiency, iron deficiency, calcium deficiency, zinc deficiency, etc.

His nails are strong and not brittle.

I am wondering if this is possibly related to a suspected adrenal/thyroid
problem.

Any thoughts?
Thanks
Julie
