Re: Beginning Chelation

We planning to start on ROUND 3 of Chelation- this Thursday....
We are only doing DMSA at this point...

Giving 50mgs. every 4 hours for 3 days on - 11 off.
Our son is 3 years old 53 pounds.... (we are slowly working up to
100mgs. of DMSA. And hope to add AlA in the future.

> Did you see any negative results?

So far, our son has tolerated Chelation rather well.- He does seem to
be a bit more "hyper" while on the DMSA, and he crys for no reason
at times, and is weapy at times. He has a harder time, "relaxing"
for his naps in the afternoon. And has had the classic "MERCURY" rash
every time we have chelated.

>
> Did you see any positive results?

Our son has shown- GREAT improvement in EYE CONTACT,
Improvement in responding to his name, and following simple commands.
He seems MUCH more aware of his enviroment and more "in our world".
He is also happy too during chelation, laughing, and smiling...
With the breif "sad" momments. He has started to show an interest in
his play things again....
>
> How long have you been chelating?

this coming week (thursday) will make it about a month and a half-
THREE rounds- 3 days "ON", 3 days off.
>
> How long do you expect to continue chelating?

This is a hard one for me to answer- Our son's results showed that he
wasn't TO toxic. SO hopefully, we will be able to finish up chelating
sooner than some. If I were to predict I'd say by this Christmas- we
should have a different kid with us, if not sooner.

I am taking this "chelation" slow and low-
It doesn't matter to me if I may end up chelating a bit longer.
I want to be safe.

WE are doing other various interventions as well:

Casein free diet, Vitamins & supplements, Special Preschool,
OT, PT, Speech, EASe Cd's.......

I have seen the MOST dramatic improvements in my son with the DIET,
Vitamins and Supplements and now CHelation. But everything that we
have tried HAS benefitted him in some way- if even only minor.

We are currently trying to get our Dr. to address a bacterial and
Yeast infection in our sons gut.

Once we get prescriptions to fight those two infections- we will have
have to post pone This coming weeks chelation round.

But I'm not upset. I just want to make him better.
And from what I here, Having a YEAST infection in your gut can do a
number on you....

GOOD LUCK TO you and your son....
I hope that I can write the group one day and say that my child has
recovered too.
