It took about 6 weeks of DMSA (3day on 4 day of cycle) and the
addition of DMPS to pull them out of the regression. It was so scary
to see my kids get better than worse! I know one parent who did just
ALA for a couple of weeks before adding the DMSA again and her kid is
getting better and they are starting to pull mercury out now. It
seems some kids can't take ALA, some can't tollerated the ALA and
DMSA together and some do well with no ALA and oral DMPS(not
injection).
Are you sure it is regression. These kids seem to pass through
emotional development missed too. It was so strange to hold my
crying dughter as she talked about how "when I was a baby and
scribbled on the wall you took my crayon and told me to stop and I
felt so bad, you kept stopping me, it was mean and you broke my
heart."
I was sad and glad at the same time. I thought she was acting out
over nothing until I stopped and "talked" it through and was shocked
to hear her speak of events that occured 3 years earlier! They
are "normal" and doing very well in school, have play dates and
everything. Some parents even think my kids are extra special as they
have so much personality and are very warm and caring.
One day a boy was crying at a dance class, my daughter got concerned
and placed her arm on his shoulder and tried to help him and asked
why he was crying. Other kids ignored him and several parents came
up to me to tell me the were shocked at how caring and sweet my
daughter was.
She even went from needing physical therapy for a coordination
disorder and gross motor delay, to being recognised as so tallented
they have her in a class with kids one and two years older and she is
one of the best dancers in her class. She was so behind she wasn't
toilet trained at all until 4& 1/2!
The urine is clearing up now too. Very little mercury or other metals
come out now. Alot used to come out with DMSA and DMPS. I am
waiting for our Dr to tell me to stop chelating soon! We have been at
it for 11 months. Beverly
