greetings,
i see you asking for some detailed personal experiences with chlorella, so
i'll try to describe mine.

in sept, my lyme literate md said that she has already tried with me "90
percent" of what she knows and she is basically out of ideas on how to help
me. she wrote in my medical notes that i had "failed antibiotic" treatment
for Lyme disease. altho a few symptoms have improved, i'm actually feeling
worse than one year ago when i started working with her. she thinks that
some of the recent treatments have stirred up mercury toxins. (she
personally had mercury toxin and had all her amalgams taken out. she used
chlorella and garlic as part of her detox.) she precribed chlorella to me,
said it was safe even with amalgams. so she referred me to doc who knows
more about heavy-metal detoxing, among other.

i talked by phone with dentist who has done mercury-free dentistry for over
20 years. he also recommened chlorella and said it was safe even with
amalagams.

my new md works parttime as director of emergency room in hospital (so he
has mainstream background) and parttime has his own clinic where he
specializes in "energy" medicine, chelation, alternative treatments.

he prescribed taking 1/4t chorella 2xday with food to begin detox (along
with some homeopathic, Bach flower, noni extract, minerals, and begin 3
colonics). i asked again about safety of chlorella, and he said it is an
excellent chelator and safe with amalgams. he did muscle-testing on me to
check that all supplements, including the chlorella, were supposed to be
good for my body.

so Oct 30, i started Source Naturals, Yaeyama chlorella, which i was told is
one of purest forms of chlorella.
by Nov 3, i noticed increased neurological symptoms (increased numbness,
tingling, pain in hands, especially in morning when wake and thru the
night.)
Nov 9, first colonic, which therapist said went very well, looked healthy.
Nov 10 started Coral Legend, Premier Reserach Labs, 1/4t, 2xday with food.
Nov 11 started Pleo UT homeopathic 5 drops 2xday. noticed strange burning
around right eye.
Nov 12 after taking first meal with doses, extreme nausea and terrible
headache, migrane, unable to sit up or move because of nausea and pain for
about 5 hours. nausea subsides, headache continues all day.
Nov 13 stopped chlorella, coral, pleo. no more nausea or headaches.
Nov 16 restart chlorella (but not the others).
Nov 18 sudden very sharp jabbing pains in right temple. extreme increase in
sensitivity to cold on my face-temple. occassional high-pitched squeal in
right ear. all day, odd pains in head. in middle of night, woke from jabbing
pains in head and above right eye. thru-out night, more horrible jabbing
pains in head. fear i might be having an aneurysm (heard it described as
worst headache ever felt in your life--well this is it.)
Nov 19 headache eased during day, but still extreme sensitivity to cold.
then more terrible jabbing pains in right side of head and pain in whole
side of face.
Nov 20 terrible headaches continue. search web and find description of
"icepick" headaches--that describes sensation. horrible pains all day.
Nov 21 stop chlorella, wonder if it is stirring up mercury?
Nov 22 no more icepick headaches, gone. but still sensitive to cold. no
icepick headaches since then, over one month while stopped chlorella.

when i told doctor, he said that 75% of his patients are taking chlorella
and doing fine. he said i must be "unusally sensitive" and seem to be
"carrying a very high toxic load."

so, i'm not gonna take any more chlorella and plan to avoid cilantro too. i
hope this helps someone avoid unnecessary risks.

gratitude lights my path,
breath by breath and step by step,
kendra
