Well Moria, I was just going to drop you a quick note, but this got me
thinking and I have never written down my illness timeline, so that is
what I ended up composing at the bottom of this letter!

Chorella was something that I took (mixed in water) as a practitioner
had recommended. I did this for a couple of weeks, if memory serves,
about a year before I initially crashed. I don't really really remember
much about it, but I do seem to remember not feeling right. I think my
comments on Chorella have been mostly based on what I have heard about
it....

>> Your reports on each of these are quite dramatically bad,

My personal experiences with MANY things have been dramatically bad. I
am very sensitive after I "crashed".

In fact, I just had to stop a round of ALA chelation because after all
this time, I still can not seem to handle as much as 35 mg ALA along
with the DMSA. (However, smaller amounts, I seem to feel quite okay
on.) As soon as I quit the ALA , I was very quickly almost "okay"
again....no terrible aftermath or anything, but I must admit that I
continued the DMSA for a day after stopping the ALA.

I started using PCA about 2 months after I crashed . I didn't notice
much or anything at first, but after I changed location geographically,
I immediately felt a little better. (It was also a 6000 foot drop in
elevation which may have had some effect, or it could have been from
removing myself form an environment that bothered me in other ways).

About 3 months into the PCA, and about 2 months after moving, I had a
window, of where I actually felt a little better, however, this DID
happen when I went on a CHristmas trip a reunion with old friends, and
at the time and had QUIT taking the PCA for the couple of weeks for
the duration of the trip, as I would sleep until noon or later when I
took it. As soon as I returned back home, I took PCA for about another
2 months and was continually getting worse and worse and worse, having
attacks EVERY DAY now, until I felt I absolutley could not bear/survive
it any longer. The only thing I could think of was to try quitting the
PCA. This was about the end of Feb, or thereabouts. I felt almost
immediately better upon quitting...like the very next day...and
gradually got a little better afterwards..

About one month later, I began with micro-mini doses of DMSA, of which
the first three put me straight into an attack. After those initial
doses, the daily/nightly "internal seizure-like attacks - complete
with occassional arm- flapping, vibrating and frequent tachycardia,"
pretty much came to a stop, with only a few more minor attacks from
that point on, for the rest of the year, dwindling down to almost no
attacks at all.

I don't remember exactly when I took the cilantro - it was in the form
of some of my home made salsa which I hadn't made/eaten since before my
big crash. I would guess that it was maybe a month or two after I
started working with the DMSA, but can't be certain. I don't know how
many leaves I actually ate, but it launched me into about an 8 hour
long attack, IF I recall correctly...feeling pretty much the same as
the other attacks. Since then, I have avoided all cilantro...something
which I used to be able to eat just fine before I crashed.

>> How long was it
>> before you tried the next one? And so on.....
>> Did you recover from one before you tried another?

I can't say that I have ever really recovered, but the attacks I used
to get would last anywhere from 4 hours being the shortest to 17 hours
being the longest, which was when i took some NAC. (Mind you, these
have been almost death defying sometimes)
I have had fewer attacks and further time in between ever since I
started the DMSA. However, I did have a bad experience, ending up with
tachycardia that lasted several hours when I cranked my dose of ALA up
to about 30-35 mg just this last monday! I simply can't seem to be able
to get over 25 mg, and I have to have the DMSA to go along with
it....and I weigh over 200 lbs.

>>
>> I wondered if I might trouble you to write something
>> that would tell the overall sequence of events.

Feb -Mar 1991 - Living in Mammoth Lakes, became very ill....was in
emergency several times ( having "attacks"). The first time I was in
ER, they put me on Tenormin, which put me straight into an attack and
landed me back in emergency. Within an hour or two after taking the
Tenormin, I felt like I was absolutely losing my mind and could not go
on.

Apr 1991 - Was diagnosed with Hg toxity and given DMSA in dilute
mixture to sip several times throughout the day, and told I had to have
amalgams out. The DMSA made to too sick and so I didn't take it.

July 1991 - Had fillings removed, and attacks stopped immediately.
(interesting note: I was given 16 mg of DMSA about 2 shortly before
amalgam removal, and I felt perfectly fine from it) Amalgam removal was
followed by 18 rounds of EDTA IV's which were administered a few
weeks after the removal. At this point, point I felt well on the road
to recovery and moved on.
--------
Oct 1992 - had one residual attack.
--------
Between these dates, I was better, not never really able to exercise or
do sports anymore...would feel like I was seizing up when I tried.
(There were a few windows when I did better and could exercise some)

Aug 2000 - After being hospitalized for an ecoli infection that spread
through out my body (and cost me part of left kidney,) I had some
treatments afterwards which in included peroxide IVs, amino acid, IVs,
vit C IVs, and I think some EDTA IV.

Upon leaving this 2 weeks series of treatments, I was instructed to
take chlorella, which I took mixed in water until the bottle ran out. I
bought more and still have it in my freezer, but I really don't
remember when I got it and when I tried to take it again.
--------
Dec 2001 - moved back to Mammoth Lakes - strange sequence of pains,
illnesses, allergies maladies ensued:
(Dec 29)Asperate Pneumonia,
(Jan - Mar 2002) Severe bronchitis (two recurring rounds of it) sending
me to ER,
(April - May) Nerve inflamation in spine/shoulder blade area,
(May - June) Onset of severe lower back pain, which lasted until I
began upping my dose of thyroid in 2004
(Aug - Sept 2002) Food allergies start setting in, malaise and back
pain after all evening meals. I have also developed multiple chemical
sensitivities and got very ill after painting and after going into a
signmaking shop....feelings of losing my mind. Coffee suddenly sends me
into attack.
By now, I KNOW something is very, very wrong. (All standard medical
tests are fine, except with a little elevated protein in blood)
--------
Continually and gradually getting progressively worse, (but still
functioning)......

July 2003 - had stressful event, after which I crashed and have never
recovered from. (I believe my adrenals crashed at this time too - I
lost my mother and fiance within a few week period)

Aug 2003 - was given a few EDTA IV's, after which I went into attacks
that lasted through the night. I soon abandoned this protocol.

Sept 2003 - Begin PCA
October 2003 - moved to different location
Dec 2003 - couple week break from PCA
--------
Feb 2004 - discontinue PCA

Mar 2004 -begin DMSA (There was probably about a 3 week break in
between PCA and beginning DMSA)

April 2004 - This is probably about when I ate that salsa with cilantro
in it, but really, it could have been in Mar, or May as well.
--------

Mar 2005 - begin adding ALA (ongoing)

June 2005 - Taking some Chembuster, and DMSA, then added PCA and
started going attack. Can't determine which did it, but Chembster and
DMSA alone have not had this affect.

Hope this helps...it certainly helped me to get it listed down on paper.

Thanks,
Inga
