The Mission of Augusta BirthNetwork is to promote the awareness and availability of mother-friendly maternity care.
Augusta BirthNetwork is part of a grassroots movement based on the belief that birth can profoundly affect our physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Birth Network advocates mother-friendly care, as defined by the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative. By making informed choices and having confidence in the process, families can experience safe and satisfying childbirth.
Augusta BirthNetwork is a non-profit organization that will hold monthly meetings, be involved in other pregnancy and birth related events and assists in the publication of BABE; our local pregnancy and birth choices directory.
Augusta BirthNetwork offers education and support to childbearing women regarding issues and choices during pregnancy and childbirth. We are affiliated with BirthNetwork National, a national nonprofit organization. The foundation of our organization is the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative, authored by the Coalition to Improve Maternity Services (CIMS).
All are welcome to join us online and at our regular meetings in Augusta at Earth Fare the 1st Monday of every month at 7:00-8:30 PM.
