Aspie traits : we're an endangered species
How do we benefit from our Aspie traits? Thinking outside the
box is part of being Aspie, and it is also an expression used in
the world for finding a solution that is not obvious. Have you ever
been told that "you don't think like us"? I sure have. I was glad at
that time, although it was not a nice thing to have hurled at me by
a manager <g> who felt he was giving me a heads-up to come
into line or else!!! I was hired to resolve problems and to create
print documents for disorganized people. I was hired and did my
job well, just BECAUSE of the fact that my thinking is different.
But I got dumped anyway. Hiring someone who thinks outside
the box is not comfortable for folks who have to struggle to get
their own thinking outside the limits of their mind box! -Zer
