I got back from Nicaragua a week ago.. and I got what i thought to be
travellers diarrhea, the day after i got back. I ended up getting
really sick, a cold included. I had stomach cramps that could last up
to five minutes and were really painful. I threw up a couple times,
and even now, i can barely eat anything other than fruits and
vegetables without feeling sick. It seems to be getting better, i
rarely have the stomach cramps, usually just after eating. And the
diarrhea is starting to get better. I'm just wondering if i should go
get it checked out? I'm still feeling really tired and kind of
lightheaded most of the time. I'm just thinking a week is a long time
after to not be eating real food.. Thank you for your time

Dear Member,

Diarrhoea due to transient infection should stop soon.If it persists for more
than 1 week I would suggest you consult your doctor to rule any unusual
infections that may require antibiotics treatment.

Good Luck

Dr Hamid
