Dear Dr. Hamid,
Several months ago I felt a bump with my finger inside my anus. Not being
sure what it is, I mustered the courage to ask my doctor about it during my
physical. He gave me a rectal exam, in which he felt my prostate, and told me I
was probably just feeling the glands of the prostate. However, I'm still
concerned about this lump because it is located on the opposite wall of my
prostate, and I don't think that my doctor ever actually felt it. I am 25 years
old with no family history of any kinds of cancer, am in good health, and have
no symptoms. I am concerned that this lump might be something serious, while at
the same time I think I just might be neurotic. I also feel very anxious about
visiting my doctor again about this issue due to its very personal nature. Do
you have any advice?
Sincerely,

dear member,
i don't think its the prostate that you are feeling with your finger in the
anus.
you need to see a surgeon to examine the anus area properly.
