i have been having a discomfort around my xiphoid process for 6
months. My symptoms started with diahrea which was cleared up by
medication.. Following this my upper abdomen around my xiphoid process
became extremely sensitive to light touch.. Even a drop of water
running down this area makes me cringe. I feel like this area is
bruised as well. Sometimes it is extremely uncomfortble to reach up or
reach for something. I have had 2 endoscopies which came back totally
normal. Also had and ultrasound and blood test but are also normal. The
doc told me i have dyspepsia and GERD but im not convinced. This pain
isnt a heartburn pain. Dull bruised feeling uncomfortable to move and
lower back pain. Im needing insight to what this might be.

Dear Member,

This sounds like a problem with the nerve supplying the area of skin near the
xiphoid process or even inflammation of the xiphoid process itself.
Have had a chest xray done in 2 planes.

With associated back pain,there is a possibility of nerve compression causing
this symptoms.

Have you seen an Orthopaedic Surgeon for this problem?
